2012 Buick Regal GS back with new technology

Buick Regal revived for the 2011 model year. A medium-sized sedan that break away from the mold of traditional Buick, the new Regal was born in Germany, as a symbol of Opel, in which he collected a number of major awards, including the 2009 European Car of the Year nod.

GS rides lower to the ground than other models of Regal, 2012 Buick Regal GS comes with Brembo front disc brakes that provide additional stopping power and 19-inch tires on alloy wheels (with 20-inch option). Hard Interactive Control System offers three operating modes Standard, Sport and GS. Switching between the modes and settings changes the stability of the suspension, throttle response, shift pattern and the pat-steering sensitivity.

Hard to go to the front wheels of a structure which one of the most rigid in the segment, and Regal has a 2738 mm (107.8 inch) wheelbase. 2012 Buick Regal GS This is a well balanced car with good quality and dynamic though GS has a firmer suspension, it still offers occupants a comfortable ride.

The first wave of production Regal actually came from Germany, but is now produced at GM's award-winning assembly plant in Oshawa, Ontario. A hybrid-engine version, called Regal eAssist, also about to be released, while the GS with the automatic is expected later this year.

THE INVISIBLE
Enhancements to the tastes of the body aero GS woven into the design, but quite wide. They include unique front and rear fascias, rocker panel extensions and rear spoiler integrated. In front it has a vertical slot air intake with a satin metallic finish and a unique grille treatment. Rear fascia incorporates a pair of cool satin-metallic trapezoidal exhaust outlet shape. Regal overall design profile is like a coupe, although it has four doors. Features front of the body is a modern rendition of the traditional Buick grille "water-fall" with the symbol of an extra large Buick tri-shield. A subtle character lines sweeping indentation behind the front wheels, carrying through the back door and parallel to the tail lights. In the back, sloping roof line is connected to a large deck with a typical short, tail lamp cover.

INSIDE
Racing-inspired interior details on the GS include a flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel and sport pedals finished metal. It also comes with leather seats and a well supported 12-way power-adjustable sports seats with four-way driver power lumbar support. Overall design of the dashboard is driver-centric chicken twin-hole layout. Satin finish accents the theme is continued in the interior, including the pan-el instruments, steering wheel and console. The instrument panel also shine white (not blue) when the driver moves the GS mode of Inter-Active Drive System Control (IDCs). Other standard features of GS include passive keyless entry with push-button start, a Harman / Kar-don 320-watt, nine-speaker sound system, Bluetooth, bi-xenon
head lamps.

There are also front and rear ultrasonic park assist, and (laptop-friendly) 120-volt power point. While the comfortable back seat, backrest is more upright than usual and head room is only okay for those under six feet. Although the trunk is a good size, a small rise in cargo floor makes it awkward to slide heavier items all the way in.

SAFETY
Eight airbags are standard with two additional rear seat side airbags. It also comes with "StabiliTrak" stability control system plus the GM full-function traction control.

HARD TO
Modern automatic transmission is so well and efficiently that you may be wondering why bother with a manual car again - until you drive a car like the GS. Euro branch of GM has obviously been spending a lot of time scheming fix this one - it's one of the best I've ever tried in front wheel drive car. A higher turbo boost pressure tuning combined with the 2.0-liter engine gives the GS more oomph than its counterpart in the Regal CLX. There's enough to make it a lively driving experience, without going too wild, and the driving dynamics is the core reason for the Regal GS is a special car. Four-wheel independent suspension on the GS uses a unique HiPerStruts until the shock front and the active damping front and rear, to reduce torque steer and maintain negative camber during cornering.

Torque-steer is the curse of the front wheel drive car performance and more control and better grip is always good. I was also impressed with the steering precision and feedback.

Even the GS mode is not as radical as the Audi S4 in terms of chassis rigidity, but changes with each developmental mode attitudes are highly visible and great features.

The 2012 Buick Regal GS take to the higher echelons, add dynamic performance to match the style of striking sedan ... Sporty Buick is back!
