Chrysler launched back in China with the presentation of the concept version of the 300C sedan called the Ruyi in 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition.
In Chinese, Ruyi means "as one wishes" and the purpose of the model concept is exactly that, to demonstrate the ability of brands to adapt the design of the 300C to suit the tastes of Chinese consumers.
Chrysler says the 300C Ruyi combine "modern American design and technology with a rich tradition of Chinese symbols."

The car was based on a 300C with a 3.6-liter V6 engine and the Pentastar eight-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.

In the car interior, interior designers Wolwod Wen chose to mix the light-tone leather seating surfaces with suede inserts and side bolsters center, contrasting with black piping. Ventilation, navigation screens, ring gauge, steering wheel rim and door handles are finished in black chrome metal trim accents while the engine is found around the shift gate, both the center console storage area, at the door and the steering wheel spokes.

Chrysler will re-launch in China with the 300C sedan this summer, while the Grand Voyager MPV will follow in the fourth quarter of this year.

Current Popularity of Hybrid Confuse Consumers

Rising prices of gasoline could be forcing many people to think about fuel economy when it’s time to buy a new car. And now, automakers are giving us more choices than ever.
Jessica Kartalija explains that hybrids are the hottest trend.
Everyone seems to be checking out the hybrid not just because the choice is environmentally sound, but also because it is easy on the wallet when it comes to prices at the pump.
If the cars showcased at the Motor Trend International Auto Show are any indication…
“More and more hybrids are going to be out on the road,” Mike Murphy of the Ford Motor Company said.
Hybrids like the Ford Fusion are drawing praise from consumers.
“You have a traditional electric charging station that will then power the engine through hybrid and then traditional gas,” Murphy said.

Drivers tired of riding the roller coaster at the gas pump say they’re looking to go green to save green.

“A lot of customers are frustrated and concerned and don’t know just where that top out is going to be with the gas, and this is great because you know how much you spend per kilowatt hour at home. It’s very clear on your bill,” Courtney Thomas of Nissan said.
The all-electric Nissan Leaf is one of the most popular cars on display at the Convention Center enticing consumers to help the environment. The IRS is offering rebates from $2,500 to $7,500 for consumers who buy green in 2012.
Additionally, almost all of the cars you see at the show this year are more fuel-efficient. They say 40 is the new 30 when it comes to gas mileage.
“If you walk around the show, you see very few V-8 engines any more,” Peter Kitzmiller, president of the Maryland Automobile Dealers Association said. “They are all six cylinders or four cylinders. With the new technology given the same power but with significantly better gas mileage.”
With competition to go green heating up, automakers are getting competitive with pricing.
“It’s listed at $26,000 or $27,000, so I thought they would be more expensive,” said Dennis Woytowich, a driver who visited the Auto Show. “The Volt is considerably more for what I think is the same concept.”
Many luxury vehicles are also adding hybrids to their lines–Lexus, Mercedes and Porsche. We are also seeing a hybrid BMW.
The Auto Show is open to the public through Sunday.

There Nissan 370Z Facelift in Chicago Auto Show 2012

2012 Hyundai Accent - 2011 New York Auto Show

What's special about it?
Hyundai's new Accent is going to be the most powerful and efficient car in the subcompact segment when it hits dealerships this summer in both sedan and five-door body styles. Add to that the fact that Hyundai will maintain the current Accent's pricing (the 2011 Accent Sedan starts at $13,695) and the new subcompact looks to be a real ground-breaker.

Hyundai's Gamma engine is the first to utilize direct injection in the subcompact segment. The 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder produces 138 horsepower and 123 pound-feet of torque. Other technologies on tap in the new engine include variable timing on both the intake and exhaust cams, an alternator management system that strategically decreases parasitic losses and use of low-friction coatings throughout. The payoff is an EPA rating of 30 city and 40 highway mpg. The 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty remains.

A six-speed manual or manually shiftable automatic transmission is available in the Accent. Active ECO, a feature which tweaks engine and transmission control to optimize fuel economy, can be switched on to increase fuel economy up to 7 percent according to Hyundai.

Four-wheel disc brakes are standard, as are six airbags (front, seat-mounted and side curtain), electronic stability control and antilock brakes. Hyundai's Vehicle Stability Management system, also standard, can deliver up to 8 Newton-meters of countersteering effort via the motor-driven electric power steering to help a driver remain in control of the vehicle.

Wheelbase is increased 2.8 inches relative to the outgoing Accent and is now 101.2 inches — about 2 inches longer than the Ford Fiesta and Honda Fit. Inside, the five-door Accent offers the largest cargo volume of any subcompact. Split-folding 60/40 rear seats are standard.

From the outside, the Accent sedan's new body looks similar to the Sonata but offers a 0.30 drag coefficient (the five-door has a 0.31 Cd). Three trim levels are available: the four-door GLS and five-door GS and SE.
